Learning Project Management at One Bangkok

Jul 22, 2026

Students enrolled in the Business Canvas and Project Management courses, taught by Tjakko Dijk, recently had the opportunity to visit One Bangkok, one of Thailand's largest and most ambitious urban developments.

The site visit provided students with a behind-the-scenes look at how a large-scale development is planned, managed, and brought to life. By observing the project firsthand, they gained a deeper understanding of the complexities involved in delivering a modern urban development.

Throughout the visit, students explored key aspects of project management, including:

  • Managing cross-functional teams and communication across departments
  • Maintaining project schedules while ensuring safety and quality standards
  • Integrating smart technology and sustainable design into large-scale developments

The experience was made possible through the support of Mr. Russell Kim, Chief Design & Innovation Officer, and the One Bangkok team, who welcomed the students and shared valuable insights into the project's planning, design, and execution.

Thanks also go to Tjakko Dijk for organising the visit and creating an opportunity for students to connect classroom learning with real-world industry practice.

Experiences like these give students a greater appreciation of how the concepts they study are applied in professional settings and provide valuable context as they continue developing their project management skills.
